The whole business proves, happily, to have a lot of heart — broken sometimes, but that’s life, even in Toontown. Go to Full Review

It’ll never be mistaken for a kid-friendly weekend cartoon... Yet there’s a feel-good arc to Kevin’s journey that carries through even its most absurd and over-the-top concepts. Go to Full Review
Angie Han The Hollywood Reporter Apr 21
Kevin eventually falls into the likable rhythms of a New York hangout comedy à la Friends or Seinfeld or, more recently, Adults, albeit with a much higher level of absurdity. Go to Full Review

Emulating Bojack Horseman's "foul-mouthed cartoon animals drinking heavily and doing sex stuff" formula isn't enough to make a good animated series—actual storytelling matters, too. Go to Full Review

The new animated Prime Video streaming series Kevin has an all-star voice cast, but the result is unfunny, unpleasant, and practically unwatchable. Go to Full Review

WonderStar Y. @WonderStarYT May 17 This is very good, it’s unique premise of animals and humans coexistence in a city was great. Also, how the main character, Kevin, moves on and commits to leaving Definitely a good ending with no loose ends from any of the characters. Would definitely watch again See more Payten N @RT66618773 May 13 Honestly this is some of the best dark humor for an animal show. I feel like a lot have been very washed but this one feels unfiltered and a show that people sit around and have on will attract everyone somehow. Cupcake og fr but Kevin bawse See more Mary W @RT12843372 May 12 Incredible cast and writing. As a cat person the themes can be a little bit upsetting, but the animals are so anthropomorphic that it doesn't really get to me. It's so rare that a new comedy actually makes me laugh. It feels like a lot of animated comedies have basically given up on writing jokes (glaring at you, Bob's Burgers), and it's so refreshing to see a script where the writers have clearly put in a lot of effort and not fallen back on stale setups and AI writing. As of this review, I haven't finished the show but have seen most of it and it really does keep getting better. I'd say it's like Bojack but more lighthearted. See more Jaymee C @RT18099007 May 9 Anything with John Waters and the included cast is always a must watch See more R T @RT80892694 May 8 This show is hilarious, and not just for cat-lovers. It's a rare mix of everything, and the cast is GOATED. Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert are geniuses. See more Em C @RT24539417 May 8 I thought it was great! It's really hard for comedy to make me actually laugh out loud, and this one did A LOT. Me and my partner started it one night and both were cracking up at it. I liked that there was a subplot and a deeper meaning at the ending rather than just "animals can talk". I really hope there's a second season! See more Read all reviews
