Kate Lucky Christianity Today Sets, costumes, scripts, structure: All matter. But mostly, season 5 of The Chosen succeeds because it’s telling a really good story. Jul 7, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider As The Chosen chugs towards its inevitable conclusion, it will build the drama leading to the crucifixion. We just hope that the characters that have been established to this point get a chance to shine in this stage of the story. Jun 16, 2025 Full Review Sergio F. Pinilla Cinemanía (Spain) The triumphant entry into Jerusalem and the expulsion of the merchants from the Temple are the crucial events that will mark the future of this well-known plot. Frans B This is by far the most accurate depiction we could have hoped for. Brilliantly executed by Dallas Jenkins. The whole cast really excels in character, very convincingly. Amazing cinematography, epic in just about every way. Truly a masterpiece Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/29/25 Full Review Ramon L Que temporada bem executada, os diálogos são maravilhosos e retratam muito bem a última semana de Cristo. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review Autumn T Beautiful, true and poetic entirely. (spoiler alert) Some say it was plodding, some say it has filler, some say it was boring and too long. I say hogwash. I loved all the setup in Part one and two...it felt necessary, loved the portrayal of what was going on with the Sanhedrin, Herod, Pilate, Atticus, Caiaphis, Judas...it needed to be shown as it happened parallel to what Jesus and the apostles were doing simultaneously. I loved the slow pace of the Last Supper and the dinner with the women. I LOVED the flashbacks the apostles had....great idea...I felt it was a very smart move to include it....it created another human and dreamy dimension to the story...and for sure the apostles must have had many moments of reflection and memories....together and individually. I LOVED the Agony in the Garden scene, the length of it and the scene (spoiler alert) where Jesus comes to check on the apostles for the 2nd or 3rd time....and when he looks at them...he sees them a young boys, not adult men sleeping. BRILLIANT!!! That scene took my breath away....and when the Joseph comforts Jesus....The bible says the angels administered to Jesus...I was expecting angels. Absolutely melted my heart and intensely moving. (I'll maybe give a nod to the naysayers that the Rage in the Temple scene felt a tad staged and all the back and forth in the marketplace, the buying and selling was a tad slow/filler-ish....but that's being picky) The Chosen bats a thousand as Season Five hits it out of the park...AGAIN. This show comes from a blessed place...it must...because it is so inspiring, engaging, soulful, tender and gorgeous....And this culture is starved for it, even if they don't know it. We are starved for beauty...The Chosen is beautiful....And anything from God is beautiful. High five to Jenkins, writers, actors, set designers, and all crew! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/25 Full Review Jens S I really wanted to like this show, but it’s just so boring. It’s way too drawn out. It could’ve easily been 3 seasons and not 7. There are just way too many dialogue scenes and way too much exposition explaining every Jewish custom and Roman cultural practice. The characters are great but it gets so bogged down by the excessive dialogue and exposition. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/23/25 Full Review Janine The story of the biblical times and the actors were phenomenal! I can’t wait to see what comes next in in the movies with this amazing team of actors! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/15/25 Full Review Mary Beautifully DONE!!!!! Love , Love, Love The Chosen Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/13/25 Full Review Read all reviews
