Once I started it I couldn't put it down. Acting is great, story is great and engrossing. Nothing got dragged out, no filler and didn't try to be GOT which was refreshing. O VFX seriously disappointed in crowd and creature sequences, sequences were rushed and badly rendered. Howeve this was countered by incredible set designs and VFX environments. Definitely worth the watch.

Absolutely loved this show and watched it in one day as couldn't turn it off. Great characters, addictive storyline and has totally left me wanting, no needing, a season 2!!!! Awesome acting by everyone involved. Just wish Anthony Hopkins was in it for a bit longer. Maybe a prequel?

I don't often post reviews but wanted to show my support for this show as I'd love more seasons. The acting is superb particularly from Iwan Rheon and Sara Martins and because of this I believe the show has the potential to be amazing. Was the first season perfect, no, there were a lot of characters and some didn't feel fleshed out enough given the season is only 10 episodes. Therefore, the deaths felt like they came a bit too soon. And the CGI quality is pretty bad for those who care about such things (I personally care more for characters and storytelling). The overall story was good, and I think could be great given a few more seasons.

One of the better shows Amazon has done in a long while. A lot of well known and good actors. The only issue I have with it is as someone who actually takes interest in history and has studied it, there are too many modern inputs particularly with the underlying afro-centric side of things with certain aspects which isn't at all correct to the history around Rome's provence's in NORTH Africa.
