      Charlie Plummer

      Highest Rated: 96% Spontaneous (2020)

      Birthday: May 24, 1999

      Birthplace: Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

Charlie Plummer was born on May 24, 1999 in Poughkeepsie, NY, Plummer was the son of actress Maia Guest and writer/producer John Christian Plummer. Due to his parents' line of work, the family moved around a lot when Plummer was a child, going back and forth between Los Angeles, upstate New York, and New York City. Despite being a shy child, Plummer began acting at a young age, appearing in local stage productions, and soon gained a love for the craft. He had a manager my the age of ten, and began attending Manhattan's Professional Children's School to accommodate his filming schedule. Plummer started out appearing in short films, including "Frank" (2010), "Three Things" (2011), and "Alan Smithee" (2012), before landing his first TV gig, appearing as the son of Shea Wingham's Eli Thompson on the acclaimed series "Boardwalk Empire" (HBO, 2010-14) for its second, third, and fourth seasons. His feature film debut came shortly thereafter, with a supporting role in David Chase's coming of age drama "Not Fade Away" (2012). Plummer then landed another series regular gig, starring on the drama series "Granite Falls" (Netflix, 2013-15). His first leading role in a film came when he played Jack in Felix Thompson's directorial debut, "King Jack" (2015). The film proved to be a hit on the festival circuit, and the buzz around Plummer was growing to the extent that he was nearly cast as Spider-Man in the Marvel reboot "Spider-Man: Homecoming" (2017), though he ultimately lost out to Tom Holland. However, 2017 still proved to be a banner year for Plummer, web-slinging or not, thanks to his appearances in two high profile family dramas: Oren Moverman's thriller "The Dinner" (2017) and Ridley Scott's "All the Money in the World" (2017), based on the real life drama behind the kidnapping of heir John Paul Getty III, who was played by Plummer. The film became the center of some real life drama of its own when the role of J. Paul Getty, which had been played by Kevin Spacey, was recast and reshot in less than a month with Christopher Plummer (no relation) following accusations of sexual harassment against Spacey. Plummer followed this up with his most acclaimed role yet, playing a troubled teenager who forms a life-changing bond with a racehorse in Andrew Haigh's drama "Lean on Pete" (2018). The film received rapturous reviews, with many critics singling out Plummer for praise, culminating with him taking home the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Emerging Actor at the Venice Film Festival.
