Fernanda Torres
Fernanda Torres kickstarted her acting career in various films such as "Inocencia" (1983), "A Marvada Carne" (1985) and "Com Licenca, eu vou a Luta" (1986). She also appeared in "Eu sei que vou te amar" (1986), the Carlos Alberto Riccelli biopic drama "Sonho Sem Fim" (1986) and the comedy "A Mulher Do Proximo" (1989) with Carmen Dolores. Her film career continued throughout the nineties in productions like "Savage Capitalism" (1993), the drama "Miramar" (1997) with Joao Rebello and the historical drama "The Jew" (1997) with Felipe Pinheiro. She also appeared in "Gêmeas" (1999). She tackled roles in the Tutuca foreign "Os Normais" (2003), "The House of Sand" (2006), Bruno Garcia's "Saneamento Basico: O Filme" (2007), the Marcelo Adnet romantic comedy "The Invisible Woman" (2009) and Gilda, Lúcia e o Bode (2020). She also appeared in the Gisele Alves documentary "Jogo de Cena" (2007) and "Playing" (2007) with Marilia Pera. Most recently, Torres, who received a Golden Globe win for her lead performance as Eunice Paiva, stars in Walter Salles' award-winning historical drama "I'm Still Here" (2024), which is the Brazilian entry for the Academy Awards.
