Actress Martine Francke was born in Canada in 1965. Her sister, Chantal Francke, was a successful actress in her own right as the only female member of the 1980s Canadian comedy troupe Rock et Belles Oreilles. Younger sister Martine's screen career didn't take off until 1991, with her appearance in the omnibus film "Lest We Forget" ("Contre l'oubli"), a collection of films intended to make a plea for clemency for political prisoners. Francke maintained a constant presence in Canadian theaters, television and film. Francke and her partner, actor André Robitaille, both had small parts in "Roméo et Juliette" (2006), a French-Canadian take on Shakespeare's classic play. In "The Last Escape" ("La Dernière Fugue") (2010), she played a woman dealing with the effects of Parkinson's disease on a family patriarch. On the small screen, Francke played a supporting role in the Canadian event series "Le berceau des anges" ("Cradle of the Angels") (Series +, 2015-), which chronicled a 1954 police investigation into child trafficking, while also following the story of a young mother who has just given birth out of wedlock. Francke also received positive reviews for playing Marie in the drama "Antoine et Marie" (2015).
