Matt Ryan

Born in Wales in 1981, Matt Ryan graduated from the prestigious Bristol Old Vic and in 2004 joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2009, Ryan was in an RSC production of "Hamlet" starring Jude Law playing the title role. When the production went to Broadway, Ryan went with it. While there he booked a job on his first American series, "Criminal Minds" (CBS, 2005-). That guest spot evolved into a series regular role on the short-lived spin-off "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior" (CBS, 2011), in which he played a cocky sniper who had a history with the team leader, played by Forest Whitaker. In 2013, he played one of his most popular roles, as Edward Kenway in video game "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag." A direct ancestor of the characters from the other "Assassin's Creed" games, Kenway lived in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, the early 18th Century. The game shipped over eleven million copies in nearly 6 months. Ryan next debuted in the title role of occult fantasy adventure "Constantine" (NBC 2014-15), based on the character created by comic book legend Alan Moore, which had previously been made into a 2005 movie starring Keanu Reeves.
