Rakhshan Bani Etemad

Rakhshan Bani Etemad worked on a variety of projects during her entertainment career. Various films make up Etemad's early directing career, including "Kharej Az Mahdoudeh" (1989), the romance "Nargess" (1992) with Abolfazl Poorarab and the drama "The Blue Veiled" (1997) with Ezzatollah Rasul Rahmani Entezami. She also appeared in "The May Lady" (2000). She continued to work in film in the early 2000s, directing motion pictures like the Golab Adineh drama "Zir-e Poust-e Shahr" (2001), the Arezoo Bayat documentary "Roozeghar-e-Ma" (2002) and the Golab Adineh drama "Under the Skin of the City" (2003). In addition to her directing, Etemad also appeared on-screen in "Friendly Persuasion: Iranian Cinema After the Revolution" (2001) with Abbas Kiarostami. More recently, Etemad directed "Gilaneh" (2005) and the Bahram Radan drama "Mainline" (2006). In addition to her directing, Etemad also appeared on-screen in the documentary "Iran: Une Revolution Cinematographique" (2006) with Bahman Ghobadi. Most recently, Etemad produced the drama "Heiran" (2009) with Zhaleh Sameti.
