Sebastian Arcelus
Born in 1976 in New York City, Sebastian Arcelus grew up in a strongly multi-cultural family and majored in Political Science at Williams College. He began a career in finance before deciding to give theater a try and was a quick success, making his Broadway debut in "Rent." Arcelus also played lead roles in the Broadway productions of "Good Vibrations," "Wicked," and "Jersey Boys." Not surprisingly, his first screen work was as a voice actor, mainly dubbing English language versions Japanese animation, including "Pokemon the Movie: Destiny Deoxys" (2004) and "Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie" (2004). Arcelus also provided voices for "Dora the Explorer" (Nickelodeon, 2000-) and "Go, Diego! Go!" (Nickelodeon, 2005-2011). His first appearance on a series was as a guest on a 2011 episode of crime drama "Person of Interest" (CBS, 2011-). Arcelus' first major exposure was on the first season of the US version of "House of Cards" (Netflix, 2013-), when he played a reporter caught in the machinations of Senator Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey. The next year, he landed in another Washington, DC political drama, "Madam Secretary" (CBS, 2014-). On the show, Arcelus plays Jay Whitman, policy advisor to Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord, played by Téa Leoni.
