Tom Braidwood
A whole community has sprung up in Vancouver to support the ongoing use of this spectacular Canadian city as a filming location for many United States TV shows and movies. As an actor, producer, director, and crew member, Tom Braidwood has been an integral and very versatile part of that talent pool. He even worked in 2009 as a composer on the feature film "Serum 1831." The highlight of Braidwood's acting career is the role of Melvin Frohike on "The X-Files." He returned in the same role in the 2001 spinoff, "The Lone Gunmen." At the same time, Braidwood worked his way up on the show as assistant director, and though he never got to direct the Fox program, this experience helped him segue to the director's chair for multiple episodes of "Da Vinci's Inquest" in 1999. He was also a producer on that series. Braidwood has continued to act in various science-fiction films and TV shows, and shared in a 2000 Gemini Award for Best Dramatic Series for his work on the Nicholas Campbell-starring "Da Vinci's Inquest."
