The thing about revenge movies are that they're predictable and nothing new, But I did enjoy this more than I expected, The story has been done so many times but it's still done well even if it does get silly, There's not a great deal of action and Arnie never holds a gun so it's not his usual kind of film, There was a nice twist at the end that made the film better and the final 20 minutes were pretty gripping, It's not one of the first films that comes to mind when we think of Arnie but it's slightly an underrated one.

Despite the tons of plot holes and the general lack of interesting story, this movie was entirely redeemed by how awesomely horrendous the bluescreening is in the "escape into the rapids" scene.

Collateral Damage is one of Schwarzenegger's most notorious films, due to its ill-fated timing with the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. The film's story involves a fireman whose wife and child are killed in a terrorist attack, which leads him to track down the terrorists and take the fight to them. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cliff Curtis, Francesca Neri, and Elias Koteas all give good performances; especially Schwarzenegger who delivers quite a demanding performance. Oddly enough, this is one of Schwarzenegger's smarter films, a little too smart actually. The infiltration of the Colombian guerrillas and the CIA's covert ops get a bit convoluted. But, it pays off with some clever story twists and reveals. And, the film delivers a lot of intense action scenes. While it has some weaknesses, Collateral Damage is a solid action film that's very entertaining.

"Collateral Damage" is a very simplistic movie with an implausible one-dimensional plot. Character development leaves much to be desired as all side characters are literally cardboard cut-outs which again is an attribute copied straight from the 80's. As for the action, it looks amazing but several scenes really stretch the bounds of believability. Towards the end the plot gets really absurd with many unnecessary twists that really do not belong and could have easily been removed in editing.
