If many modern viewers have never heard of Anning, Ammonite does well to bring her story to their attention, and deservedly so. Go to Full Review

Lee has, over his two films so far, proven a dab hand at teasing out unexpressed, furtive desires, depicting both the visceral emotions and gritty physicality of same-sex romance with empathy and an understated artistic flair. Go to Full Review

It adds up to an expertly crafted film that nonetheless feels somewhat distanced and removed, like an exhibit under glass. Go to Full Review

Ending the film on the silence between two lovers can be powerful, but in the case of Ammonite, it highlights how little Mary and Charlotte have to say to each other. Go to Full Review

Winslet and Ronan are always a joy to watch, especially when they share a wordless moment together, as in one intimate scene where Charlotte dabs a little of her perfume on Mary while their eyes express their unspoken feelings. Go to Full Review

- Lesbian 12/07/2020 I can tell you for certain when lesbians kiss they don’t immediately go for the vagina 10 seconds later. Otherwise, fantastic movie. Would watch again 👌 See more Ilgglm 11/29/2020 90% of the dialog is facial expressions, which is actually pretty amazing when you think about how much is conveyed. The pace is slow, like when will the last hour of work end once you notice the clock slow. The sex scenes are fully charged and sexy, but have to say Ive been praying my whole life for a girlfriend who can orgasm as quickly as those two. If I hadnt of scene it, I wouldnt have missed it, but it was a pretty decent experience overall. See more jana k 11/25/2020 the story was good. costumes. combination of actressss. well done.
