Audience Member Far from the brilliant novel, but it gets some sparks of its light. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member British doctor's week progressively gets worse after helping Paraguayan rebels with information to help them kidnap the American ambassador with hope he finds his imprisoned father. He ends up being shot in the head for his trouble but was interesting watching the noose tighten around his neck when the police get suspicious. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Beyond The Limit not a great movie but has Richard Gere in his prime and a funny performance by Michael Caine. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Unbelievably slow-moving and static. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Gere plays another unsympathetic character, knocking up Caine's wife and inadvertantly getting Caine kidnapped by bungling freedom fighters all the while giving off a 'why me' attitude. He's also unconvincing as a British doctor. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Beyond the Limit has one of the best endings I can remember in a mediocre film, an ending that goes a long way toward redeeming some of the sloppiness that went before. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Bernard Drew Gannett News Service Although Beyond the Limit is based on Graham Greene's The Honorary Consul and deals with political intrigue, terrorism and illicit love, it is a strangely unexciting and remote movie.
