Audience Member Victory Venkatesh's much hyped Bodyguard, directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh under the banner of Sri Sai Ganesh Productions, is set for big release today. Let's check out the review for more... Story: Venkatadri (Venkatesh), is a carefree youngster, who is made by his father (Thannikela Bharani) to join the household of Varada Rajulu (Prakash Raj), a don who has turned into a good man in a village, as a bodyguard as there is a threat to the life of Varada Rajulu's daughter Keerti (Trisha), he asks Venki to accompany her to the college and provide security cover. As Keerti dislikes Venkatadri's presence, she plays a prank on him, despite a warning from her friend Swathi (Saloni) which does not end well. Slowly, Keerti falls for the charm and good heart of Venkatadri and all hell breaks loose when Varada Rajulu, who never allows anyone deceive him, comes to know about this. What follows is a climax, which is emotional and touching. Performances: Venkatesh as Venkatari given good performance. He tried very hard to conveys his emotional scenes through his eyes and Facial expressions. Dont miss Venkatesh - Ali dancing for Poovai Poovai track right after the Interval its just hilarious. Trisha was okay in her role. Her acting was not that great which used to be in earlier times, she has given same expression for max. for every situation. She also looks a bit fagged in this film. That's the reason why Trisha's scenes with Venkatesh look good but wasn't particularly great as in AMAV. Saloni given an average performance. Venu Madhav and Ali provide much required laughs with their decent comedy. Prakash Raj does justice to his role. Kota Srinivasa Rao was wasted. Remaining cast was confirmative. Technical Talents: The narration of the film is pitiably slow. Director failed to make audience involve and identify themselves with the hero's character. Screenplay of the film is not tight. Gopichand Malineni direction is good but could have been lot better. Although he tried to make an healthy entertainer, he fails to stand out in his department. Music by Thaman is plus point . Background music grateful. I liked picturisation of Hosanna and Yavvaro on screen. Choreography might not be extraordinary but songs entertain on the screen (Except ENDUKO song) and shot lavishly. Fights by Ram-Laxman miss naturality. But slow motion shots in action episodes were good. Production values are good. Editing (by Gautham Raju) could have been crispier. Cinematography (Shyam K Naidu) is an highlight of the movie. Camera angles and filters used are nice. Costumes were good. Dialogues by Kona Venkat were decent. Survi Verdict: First half of the movie is mixed with partly entertaining and boring moments. Second half of the film is decent and climax carries good emotional 30 minutes that lifts the movie. On the whole, 'Bodyguard' is a decent family entertainer that compliments the spirit of the festive season. From the Five: Bodyguard (Telugu) Fifth version of the same movie, following the 2010 Malayalam-language original and the 2011 Tamil,Hindi and Kannada remakes. From the Five versions i still go with the original version Malayalam Bodyguard. Where the content is the same but the way of telling the story is different. Malayalam treatment was more comical and performers in characters were perfect. Catch me on twitter: www.twitter.com/pavansurvi Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
