Sophia Satchell Baeza Sight & Sound I found Mad About the Boy tonally strange, and it left me feeling curiously depressed. Nov 5, 2025 Full Review Amy Amatangelo Tellyvisions Underneath pratfalls and slapstick moments is a more mature, poignant movie about moving on after the devastating loss of a loved one. Jul 25, 2025 Full Review Maxwell Rabb Chicago Reader Despite all the repeated gags and such, it’s charming—and more emotionally vulnerable than many of its counterparts. Feb 20, 2025 Full Review Robin Holabird KUNR (Reno, NV) As expected, no one doubts the ultimate romantic pairing and fortunately dalliances allow for a ridiculously appealing wet shirt scene. Aug 22, 2025 Full Review Clotilde Chinnici The People's Movies Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is the perfect example of how to make an excellent sequel that remains true to the original material while also innovating it for the audience who might look for a deeper reflection on these very important themes Rated: 4/5 Aug 7, 2025 Full Review Marissa Hill Shade Studios Zellweger brings a wonderful mix of vulnerability, wit, and self-deprecation to the role, ensuring that Bridget remains the charming and relatable character audiences adore. VITALII H I am a big fan of Bridget Jones movies. This one did not disappoint at all, however I think that this one is the least interesting or funny in comparison to previous 3 movies. I really I love the way how lifecycle are portrayed in every movie depending on the age of the cast. By the way, they kept the original cast, which made me so happy. This one is made from a lot more mature point of view. There are several serious topics that make the movie less laughable but more therapeutic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/26/25 Full Review Kashgar A I know I’m supposed to like this for old times sake. The critics certainly do. But honestly…it’s twaddle, the weakest link being Bridget Jones herself. Renee Zellweger squints, pouts, gesticulates and pulls faces throughout, and walks like she has piles. The accent is overdone and tired too. All of this on top of a script which is just plain silly, and keeps trying to insert religious belief into the narrative. Very much time to put this franchise to rest. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/25 Full Review Rouva K I'm surprised at how much I liked this, I think Mr Walliker had the best character. It played a bit on the classic style of Bridget Jones jokes, but didn't rely on it, it relied on a few of its tropes in a way that original viewers can feel nostalgic enough. I think Renee Zellweger's accent becomes less convincing in this one. The relationship with Daniel was great, it was delightfully accepting of his flaws and an acceptance that it wasn't meant to be, but the actors and their jokes for their scene aged very well together. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/25 Full Review Emma C More like Mad About The Kids than Mad About The Boy. I didn’t sign up for a movie about kids. Dull, cliched & not enough Daniel Clever. Slow to start, some stories not finished & rushed at the end! Don’t think I’d be bothered to watch again. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/03/25 Full Review Bruce K Same old, same people, same same same. Standard script that most rom coms follow and this isn’t any different, except this cast is getting awfully long in the tooth. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/30/25 Full Review Julie C Am I the only one who found this utterly ridiculous? Characters who are pompous and one dimensional. Bridget is annoying and unlikeable. Not even worth a chuckle. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/27/25 Full Review Read all reviews
