If you have never seen any of the other in the franchise, this might do. However, I'm getting ready to watch the 2022 version.

OMG takes the cake for worst movie behind Ssss. The acting is horrendous. There is zero character development. Charlie is a sad weak little whiner. 1/2 way through the movie and absolutely nothing has happened except short lame flashbacks. The music though is the worst. Like misplaced bad bg horror film tracks. Just. So. Bad

It is an effective follow-up even if it is a bit too close to the original.

Rainbird died in the first film.
When trying to make a sequel of a classic, too many years after the original release, at least try to follow the original storyline.
Same as her parents deaths.
And many other crappy non continuances throughout this badly scripted movie

Not as good as the original, but still worth a TV or Netflix watch if it ever comes around.

Lousy script, lousy acting, changes to the original story line, everything about this story is a insult to anyone willing to sit through it. I lost brain cells watching it. It took my 5 whole minutes to realize that a monkey could have written a better script in crayon! I am not sure the writer had ever even seen the cult classic that was the original masterpiece. What kind of writer scripts a movie without ever touching the prequel to know what it is about. My only hope is that it is written without the consent of the origin. So enough was changed to separate it from the genre. But wouldn't that also be an insult too?
