Crystal Lake's history of murder doesn't deter counselors from setting up a summer camp in the woodsy area. Superstitious locals warn against it, but the fresh-faced young people -- Jack (Kevin Bacon), Alice (Adrienne King), Bill (Harry Crosby), Marcie (Jeannine Taylor) and Ned (Mark Nelson) -- pay little heed to the old-timers. This is a classic that still holds up if you're a horror fan. The pacing is a bit rough and the lighting is darker than expected but it's still impressive what they were able to accomplish with the small budget they had.

Why would u show a grey slasher movie at 7:30? Along with Texas a gif saw massacre the night before and once again a 7:30 showtime for elm street the N.e. t day??? Makes no sense . Ppl that enjoy these movies want to make a night out of it with friends and see it at 9 pm or later. Thx -
