Audience Member I saw this when it first came out and it wasn't bad,,, I was a kid though, Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Okay guys, first thing? Don't judge me! This was the second film in an all-night schlock-a-thon and everyone else I was watching it with was expecting a porno film from the eighties. Sothere. This movie is just... um.... great. It's delightful. There is nothing wrong with it. It's skillfully written, well shot, Donnie and Marie are fairly easy on the eyes, the story is engaging and all the peripheral characters are great. It's such a shame that so much effort and obvious talent went into making a bubblegum, throwaway piece of pop cinema that probably wasn't meant to stand the test of time. This movie is fun! It's entertaining and it culminates wth the kind of respect for continuity that makes it seem elegant. I wish that today's throwaway movies were this good. Oh, and I'm fairly sure that Donnie and Marie Osmond are vampires. Look at their teeth! Look at how gracefully they've aged! A case can be made. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member ★ (out of four) Donny and Marie Osmond prove that they are even worse actors than they are serious musicians. Maybe that is harsh since I can see a little why they were popular with kids in the 1970's. They have a sweet and whiolesome playfulness that I'm sure made parents see them as role models. But their contribution to pop culture is mostly cringe worthy, and this is coming from someone who is from Utah! This nonsense centers around Marie and Donny in Hawaii. Her necklace is stolen because it hides a secret inside. Maybe the secret is the answer to why the film even got bankrolled in the first place. There's not even enough material here for a twenty minute sitcom that gets canceled after its pilot.
