Elvis D 06/02/2023 Antes de Disney, Toei Animation ha logrado hacer una adaptación que respeta el relato original en muchos aspectos. Esta película animada no ha modificado del todo el cuento original, se ha mantenido bastante aferrado a él, aunque haya sido adaptado para un público infantil. La película respeta la esencia del relato original y narra su trágico argumento tal y como está. El tono es infantil desde luego, pero su argumento sigue siendo igual de dramático y trágico, tal como está en el cuento. Marina definitivamente se roba toda la película y es un personaje lo suficientemente entrañable para sentir lástima por ella, después de todo lo que vive hasta el final de la película. Su compañero delfín Fritz es un personaje simpático y adorable. Además, refleja lo que uno siente cuando termina empatizando con Marina. La animación de Toei Animation le da mucha vida y sabor a la película, haciéndola deleitable. La banda sonora incluso ayuda bastante a generar una sensación convincente cuando la historia se va tornando más triste y melancólica. Como película animada es difícil decir que supera a la versión animada de Disney, así que ambas quedan en empate. Pero como adaptación del cuento de Hans Christian Andersen, esta película es sin duda la más fiel y solo por eso logra superar la versión de Disney. This steps over whatever Disney's happy ending you're looking for. It's also interesting how the sea witch was barely involved in the film but her power puts Marina to her demise. It's a real shame that it got overshadowed by Disney's less authentic adaptation considering the central, mature themes of sacrifice and selflessness are more neglected in Disney's version. Highly recommended for viewers of all ages, regardless of its sadder ending. Soooo when she saw this version with a blonde mermaid (I was blonde) she rented it for me! :) I was initially traumatised when I discovered the original story! Ariel did not die and turn to sea foam!! ;( however, I demanded to know the original stories of all fairy tales then and developed a passion for the darker ones! XD See more Read all reviews
