Del is alone in the world. After the human race is wiped out, he lives in his small, empty town, content in his solitude and the utopia he's methodically created for himself -- until he is discovered by Grace, an interloper whose history and motives are obscure. And to make matters worse, she wants to stay.

Critics Consensus

I Think We're Alone Now benefits from an absorbing aesthetic and solid work from its leads, although it's still somewhat less than the sum of its post-apocalyptic parts.

There's a claustrophobic comfort to it... Yet there is space for silence and reflection, and many shots are quietly beautiful - until a Rush song blares, puncturing the meditative mood. Go to Full Review

Peter Dinklage and Elle Fanning bravely face the end of the world, but they can't overcome a barrage of clichés in a plot that ties up loose ends without a single surprise or a scintilla of genuine emotion. Go to Full Review

Makowsky’s script deftly explores the unique ways the lingering trauma of survivor’s guilt effects individuals and the way leaders would try to move convince the remaining population to move on without fully processing it. Go to Full Review

Stephen C Jan 23 A solid start, with an intriguing look at the usual apocalypse trope. Builds a moody, introspective world, akin to a Scandinavian crime drama... all that is then dumped and the plot changes to an incomplete sci-fi, mad doctor... thing, which destroys suspension of disbelief. I sincerely believe this was two separate scripts, crammed together and forced to work. Somehow not terrible. Could have been a hell of a lot better. See more Curtin 1 @Curtin Jan 9 Couldn’t hear what anyone was saying. Mumbling and quiet. Turned it up only to be jarred by loud effects or music and having to turn it down again. Very slow, nothing really happens. A lot of quiet moments that felt like they were supposed to mean something, but since I couldn’t hear the dialogue, it didn’t mean much to me. See more Jackson P @JacksonP Jan 8 If you are going to watch this movie I recommend learning sign language as even on max volume you cannot understand what the actors are saying and for whatever reason no subtitles are available? I wonder if it’s because if we were able to understand what was actually going on then the movie would be even worse. See more Luke T @Lukage Dec 30 Worst movie in the history of movies! See more Trevor C @Trevor1131 Dec 28 The actors should be embarrassed to have their names associated with this boring snorefest. It starts promisingly, but goes nowhere and culminates in a ridiculous ending that explains nothing. See more Daniel L Dec 20 Slow but compelling. Intriguing, sad and tragic. Not a lot happens but you find yourself drawn in and unable to look away. Great performance by Peter Dinklage. There's somthing about his character that you really enjoy. See more Read all reviews
