David Griffiths Subculture Entertainment An amazing crime thriller that also just happens to have some of the best martial arts sequences that you will see on screen this year. Rated: 4/5 Sep 18, 2024 Full Review Jeff Nelson Guy at the Movies When Life After Fighting kicks into high gear, it makes you want to cheer and groan in response to the first-class action and its brutal aftermath. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 23, 2024 Full Review Aaron Neuwirth We Live Entertainment Beyond a compelling enough first half that sets the stage for things to come, the final portion of this film really delivers on killer fight choreography, workable stakes, and a great level of tension. Rated: 8/10 Aug 21, 2024 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online Life After Fighting is clearly the end product of years of hard work; this group of fighters and stunt men have poured all their passions into this project, and the effort has paid off with an action fan’s dream movie. Jun 26, 2024 Full Review Christopher Cross Asynchronous Media Action fans can rest assured that while this is definitely a bit of a vanity project that runs into some cliched territory, it’s also a vicious powerhouse of martial arts mayhem that convinces its audience that violence is the only answer. Rated: 4/5 Jun 14, 2024 Full Review Rob Hunter Film School Rejects It’s the kind of immensely entertaining action movie that will have you cheering as very bad dudes are ended with a violently righteous fury. Monsieur F Australian martial arts excellence. The story is well known - the bad guys are bad, the good guy is good - and keeps no real surprises, but the fight scenes are intense and extremely well choreographed. A little bit to long, well acted drama with good fights for fans. Bren Foster: Director, Screenplay, Producer, Choreographer of Fight Scenes and main character. Multi talented. Keep an eye on him. If you love martial arts movies then don‘t miss this one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/06/25 Full Review Dennis N I have nothing negative about the fighting sequences. They are fantastic. However, my blood pressure was spiking as I was watching this movie for the wrong reasons. The contrived stupidity and selfishness of one of the character was written so that the contrived fighting finale could occur really got my blood boiling. I can't help to spoil the movie a bit but the selfish action of one of the character led to the death of a child. Think about this if you watch this movie. What is supposedly a good character, did something so stupid and so selfish that a child died. I don't know what the writer, director, and producer of this movie was thinking when they thought that this plot device would be a good idea. I could think of other different ways to move the story to a finale without resorting to this. I don't know if it was controversial when this movie first aired. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/26/25 Full Review John M Amazing fighting. Like a return to the 80s. Character development is meh but good enough so who cares. Slow paced but satisfying. Watch it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review Karl B This movie was hands down the best martial arts movie I've ever scene. It's kind of a cliche 90s style kung-fu movie. But I have to this day have never scene action like this in my life. Even the action effects are terrible. For example anytime a gun is shot. and the landing pads that they land on are bouncy from high falls. But the actual fighting......is insane. I'm blown away. I'm gonna go watch it again and tell all my John Wick buddies about this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/17/25 Full Review Bobby J The script is excellent and the acting is top notch - the script demands top performances and the actors are great. Also, you really you get a feel for who Bren Foster is. His main message - and the message of the film - seems to be: "Become good at martial arts so you don't have to fight. The main reason to do it is if you feel the need to be able to protect yourself in violent situations." In the movie, in Alex Faulkner's situation, his profile as a martial arts champion has the effect of attracting challengers, one of whom only wants a competitive challenge. The others are bad, messed up people and Alex has to ultimately bring his full suite of MA expertise to bear on the baddies. It also perhaps offers a view of how being in the military shapes peoples lives - it leaves you with the idea that a small number of people who have seen a lot of trauma in war come out disillusioned and become guns for hire; similar to what is depicted in Equalizer 2. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/25 Full Review Marios C The greatest martial artist i ever saw until now..Great senario .. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/21/25 Full Review Read all reviews
