David Griffiths Subculture Entertainment An amazing crime thriller that also just happens to have some of the best martial arts sequences that you will see on screen this year. Rated: 4/5 Sep 18, 2024 Full Review Jeff Nelson Guy at the Movies When Life After Fighting kicks into high gear, it makes you want to cheer and groan in response to the first-class action and its brutal aftermath. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 23, 2024 Full Review Aaron Neuwirth We Live Entertainment Beyond a compelling enough first half that sets the stage for things to come, the final portion of this film really delivers on killer fight choreography, workable stakes, and a great level of tension. Rated: 8/10 Aug 21, 2024 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online Life After Fighting is clearly the end product of years of hard work; this group of fighters and stunt men have poured all their passions into this project, and the effort has paid off with an action fan’s dream movie. Jun 26, 2024 Full Review Christopher Cross Asynchronous Media Action fans can rest assured that while this is definitely a bit of a vanity project that runs into some cliched territory, it’s also a vicious powerhouse of martial arts mayhem that convinces its audience that violence is the only answer. Rated: 4/5 Jun 14, 2024 Full Review Rob Hunter Film School Rejects It’s the kind of immensely entertaining action movie that will have you cheering as very bad dudes are ended with a violently righteous fury. Aron M This movie was so good that I decided to write my first review on rotten tomatoes. And I’ve seen thousands of movies. The action sequences in this movie are elite and it goes on for a long time and it is all pure entertainment. I wish I could watch this again for the first time. Imma tell my great grand kids about this movie someday. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Sherrilee B I started off thinking this was just going to be an average type movie, was a little slow when it first started off but loving martial arts I decided to stick with it and boy I wasn’t disappointed, when the tension started to get a little gritty, too me gasping in shock and the action starts, the ball never stops, makes up for the slow start but well worth taking the time to follow through, awesome realistic fight scenes, with a few unexpected surprises to have you cheering on, worth having a look Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/08/25 Full Review Audience Member FÜR MARTIAL ARTS FANS EIN MUSS Alex leitet eine Kampfsport Schule für Jung und Alt, aus dem aktiven Wettbewerb hat er sich wegen mehreren Operationen zurückgezogen. Life After Fighting geht ca. 120 Minuten und ist ab 18 Jahren freigegeben. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review Gaming N gotta respect bren fosters grindset, he made a pretty good movie Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Kemal U A must see movie for martial arts lovers. Great talent throughout the movie with a gripping story line. Enjoyed every minute Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/28/24 Full Review Paul D I'm usually not attracted to Martial Arts movies at all and, for that reason, I almost didn't select this movie to watch. But Prime Video's note that it's a story about kidnapping and child trafficking hooked me, and I'm glad it did. I found this movie to be surprisingly excellent and entertaining! I was even more impressed when I learned that the principal actor (Bren Foster, whom I'd never previously known of) was also the writer and director of this production! I thought the story itself was great, the dialogue believable, and the acting superb. Plus, the martial arts scenes were the best and most believable I've ever seen. Of course, others have said the same. At this point, if you haven't seen it yet, read no further until you've already watched this movie. Then return to read the rest of my thoughts. I don't want to spoil anything for you or influence how you feel about this excellent story. Notwithstanding my praise above about this movie, there is one thing I believe was a glaring mistake in the finished product. I haven't deducted anything in my rating because of this, as I suspect what I feel is "missing" likely was "IN" the original script and may even have been filmed (because it makes so much sense), but was content forced to the "cutting room floor" by some thoughtless studio nerd. It's something I believe is missing from the "ending party" scene: Just a few seconds of dialogue by that "other Champion" praising the heroic actions by Bren Foster's character. In my opinion, unless that "other Champion" shows up at the "ending party" to say something praising Bren Foster's character (e.g., "What he did to save those kids shows that he's a real-life Hero as well as one of the best Champions our sport has ever known!", or something similar), then everything earlier in this movie about that "other Champion" (including the fight they had, which the audience knows neither character will ever speak of) was superfluous, not related at all to the movie's actual storyline, and totally unnecessary to have been included in this movie. However, including just a very few seconds of that "other Champion" praising Bren Foster's character for his heroism at that "ending party" would have neatly "tied in" & "wrapped up" everything about that "other Champion's" involvement in this movie. In fact, it was already set up because the "3 weeks later" note made it absolutely clear that the "other Champion" would have had plenty of time to hear about it all & show up to praise his "former adversary". So why wasn't he there? If that few seconds of dialogue actually WAS filmed then left out of the movie's original release, then I sincerely hope Bren Foster will find a way to add that piece back in and then release it as a "Director's Cut" - and better version - of this already very fine movie.
