Ben Sachs Chicago Reader Director Wes Ball fails to generate any emotional resonance with this premise, though some of the action sequences are exciting. Mar 10, 2020 Full Review Udita Jhunjhunwala Livemint The intrigue of the first part, the fascinating design of the maze and the interplay between the characters trapped in the Glade have been eroded over the subsequent parts to end in a most unsatisfactory way. Jul 29, 2019 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review It's efficiently done and there moments in it that are arresting... [but] have we now done with this particular cycle of films? Because I think we all have. Aug 28, 2018 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Both formally and narratively, The Death Cure feels like a patchwork, Frankensteined together from better material. Rated: 2/4 Mar 16, 2022 Full Review Drew Dietsch FANDOM A bombastic blast that sends the series off on a high note. Dec 29, 2021 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Features lots of ominous music, attractive stars in motion, dusty dystopian landscapes and something gets blown up or shot at every 10 minutes or so. Sticky B Newt. Newt. Newt. Newt. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/16/25 Full Review TheMovieSearch R Maze Runner: The Death Cure serves as a strong conclusion to the trilogy, and Dylan O’Brien continues to shine as the central figure, bringing depth and intensity to his role as Thomas. His performance keeps the audience invested, and the supporting cast complements him well, creating a dynamic that makes the story feel alive and engaging throughout the film. The action sequences and world-building remain compelling, capturing the high-stakes, post-apocalyptic tension that the series has consistently delivered. The director successfully balances thrilling set pieces with character-driven moments, allowing the audience to remain emotionally connected while still enjoying the adrenaline-fueled narrative. The screenplay maintains the franchise’s continuity and provides enough clarity to resolve lingering plotlines without feeling rushed. It supports the performances effectively and preserves the established tone, combining suspense, action, and the occasional quiet emotional beat that underscores the stakes. Where the franchise seems to have faltered, however, is in its marketing. Despite the solid filmmaking and capable performances, the series never fully reached its potential in the mainstream consciousness. A stronger promotional effort could have elevated the films into a larger cultural phenomenon, but instead, the trilogy quietly faded from widespread attention. Overall, The Death Cure is a satisfying and well-executed conclusion to the Maze Runner series. Fans of the franchise will appreciate the consistent performances, engaging action, and cohesive storytelling. While it may not have achieved blockbuster status, it remains a highly watchable and rewarding film, and the trilogy as a whole is worth revisiting for those who enjoy dystopian adventure. E temos a salvação. Vale apena assistir? sim, bom efeitos e CGI. Pena não ter aquele final feliz pleno, pois a perda destes 2 personagens é o que da o clima da drama para este 3º filme. Nota: 8 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/12/25 Full Review A. ERUNDIL M Se deja ver pero no es una buena película. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/08/25 Full Review Michael P Just a bad, bloated film. Every attempt to pump feeling into these characters seems to fall flat and the harder the director tries to hook our sympathy, the more ridiculous the endeavor feels; to the point of unintentional humor. More, we see every turn of the film minutes beforehand, ham-handedly signaled and every action set piece, save the opening one, feels by-the-numbers. And whenever this director exhausts his meager pouch of narrative ideas (which is often), he'll blow something up or send in the zombies. Watch the film for closure if you must, but keep your finger on the fast-forward button. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/18/25 Full Review Johnny U Not a bad movie at all, actually the second half was pretty strong, especially the battle scenes when the protected city fell. The movie was just dragged out too long in typical Hollywood fashion and had a lot of unnecessary overly dramatic slow motion dying scenes. Didn’t like the treatment of Newt at the end, watching him turn instead of dying heroically in the battle knowing he wasnt going to make it. And Teresa’s death was very contrived and unnecessary. Disappointing considering how enjoyable the rest of the film was. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/12/25 Full Review Read all reviews
