Ben Sachs Chicago Reader Director Wes Ball fails to generate any emotional resonance with this premise, though some of the action sequences are exciting. Mar 10, 2020 Full Review Udita Jhunjhunwala Livemint The intrigue of the first part, the fascinating design of the maze and the interplay between the characters trapped in the Glade have been eroded over the subsequent parts to end in a most unsatisfactory way. Jul 29, 2019 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review It's efficiently done and there moments in it that are arresting... [but] have we now done with this particular cycle of films? Because I think we all have. Aug 28, 2018 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Both formally and narratively, The Death Cure feels like a patchwork, Frankensteined together from better material. Rated: 2/4 Mar 16, 2022 Full Review Drew Dietsch FANDOM A bombastic blast that sends the series off on a high note. Dec 29, 2021 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Features lots of ominous music, attractive stars in motion, dusty dystopian landscapes and something gets blown up or shot at every 10 minutes or so. What's missing is the emotional content that might make you care about it. Rated: 1/5 Feb 28, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Michael P Just a bad, bloated film. Every attempt to pump feeling into these characters seems to fall flat and the harder the director tries to hook our sympathy, the more ridiculous the endeavor feels; to the point of unintentional humor. More, we see every turn of the film minutes beforehand, ham-handedly signaled and every action set piece, save the opening one, feels by-the-numbers. And whenever this director exhausts his meager pouch of narrative ideas (which is often), he'll blow something up or send in the zombies. Watch the film for closure if you must, but keep your finger on the fast-forward button. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/18/25 Full Review Johnny U Not a bad movie at all, actually the second half was pretty strong, especially the battle scenes when the protected city fell. The movie was just dragged out too long in typical Hollywood fashion and had a lot of unnecessary overly dramatic slow motion dying scenes. Didn’t like the treatment of Newt at the end, watching him turn instead of dying heroically in the battle knowing he wasnt going to make it. And Teresa’s death was very contrived and unnecessary. Disappointing considering how enjoyable the rest of the film was. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/12/25 Full Review Quinn O It was a pretty good movie until the end, which I did not like. Teresa dying was not needed, she had much time to survive and definitely could have. Her and Thomas were very well together, and she shouldn’t have had to die. ( yes I read the book and knew it was coming but still didn’t like it.) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/10/25 Full Review Samuel L Good movie, love the safe and civilised city in the middle a destroyed world, lots of action but Janson makes no sense to me. He kills Page after Thomas wanted to go with her just to do the same she wanted to do but with lots of violence. In the end, the people who wanted to safe the world are destroyed and the one guy who could do it flees with his friends and leans back. Not the best ending. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/20/25 Full Review Diego P I don’t know if they’re trying to wrap up the plot threads, but everything is moving way too fast... What happened? Did they really build up this whole “Chosen One” storyline just to drop it at the last minute? If they were going to change the books, then fine—have the courage to actually change them. Commit to it. Not... this half-baked mess. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/17/25 Full Review Michael D L Actually the best one of the series with some great action scenes Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/16/25 Full Review Read all reviews
