Paul Lê Nightmare on Film Street The horror elements in Monstrous may be delayed and eclipsed by a romantic subplot, but they are still valid and worth the wait. Rated: 8/10 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Joel Harley Starburst Well-acted by its two stars and written with deliberation and pace (by Shields herself, no less), this is a thoughtful character study and a slowly unfolding mystery - a more serious version of Creep, but without all the found footage and peachfuzz. Rated: 3/5 Aug 27, 2020 Full Review Donnie Lopez Black Girl Nerds While the idea behind this film is refreshing and it does provide a few red herrings to keep the film interesting, it itself seems to be more of a lesbian murder mystery than a monster flick. Rated: 2/5 Aug 26, 2020 Full Review David-Elijah Nahmod Bay Area Reporter Yes, Monstrous is a well-made, scary and suspenseful movie. Horror aficionados will not be disappointed, even if Bigfoot's appearances are few and far between... Aug 21, 2020 Full Review John Squires Bloody Disgusting A refreshing new take on the Bigfoot sub-genre with something more on its mind than mere monster movie mayhem. Rated: 3/5 Aug 13, 2020 Full Review Matt Donato Flickering Myth Don't you hate when Bigfoot movies forget they're Bigfoot movies? Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 29, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member The twists and turns throughout helped elevate this to being more than advertised. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Anna Shields is a name to watch for the indie-horror film fan. I hope she has good health insurance, because I can't imagine how her back must feel after carrying this entire film on her own from the start all the way to its (many!) conclusions — and for whatever reason the director just decided to not roll credits until the running time crept close enough to that 90 minute mark. Give any half-decent film editor a weekend and they could chop this thing down to a legitimately tense and sleek ~45 minute short horror film. But I guess this was more of a "get experience for the job" sort of situation for its clueless director and most, if not all, of the cast members who aren't named Anna Shields. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member not bad; it's super predictable & not exquisitely made, but it's not a bad watch if you don't have anything else to do. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Well, it's no Harry and the Hendersons... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow what a ride, what a journey. It's the film you didnt know u needed. This movie WILL change you. Like if I've decided to watch this movie after reading the synopsis, which is basically bigfoot meets serial killer, and you somehow didnt know it wasn't ur cup of tea...that's on you and your wrong. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member It's amazing what you can do, or not do in this case, with five to ten second stretches of nothing happening strung together. I've never seen so much black screen time in a film that served no purpose. This is a twenty minute story, if you want to call it that, stretched to feature length, and the only thing good about it is the two female leads who are good looking. Somebody gave somebody money to make this. There's hope for all the hacks out there, if you're really good looking that is. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
