Audience Member Very well made movie Rated 4/5 Stars •  Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprising well scripted film with reasonably tight screenplay ! Tri-lingual in parts with Tamil, Hindi and English built into dialogue exchanges quite seamlessly. Impressive! This film also refreshingly provides multiple perspectives : hijacked and as well as the hijacker's perspective. The commercial format of the movies makes it endearing and the ensemble cast memorable. Nagarjuna looks great for his age which I hear is 50+ and portrays an intelligent as well as an enterprising commando leader. This larger than life character keeps the plot together and the screenplay interesting. Worth multiple viewings. Rated 4.5/5 Stars •  Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I really liked Payanam because it was totally different than the usual Kollywood/Tollywood movies. Payanam is about a plane hijacking incident and that is a theme which you rarely see in Tamil/Telugu movies.The movie had the action and the thrill. I also liked the cast a lot, I think that all of them did a good job. It's a pity that you don't get to see a lot of action from Nagarjuna though. Another good thing about this movie is that there are no songs, no love clichés and the typical fights. Rated 4/5 Stars •  Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Different theme for a Tamil movie, excellent screen play and sequences. Very good acting by all except the main villain. He was using the flight deck as if he walked on a ramp, he should have had more agreessive dialogues and delivery. Second half is even more better than the first. Littlebit of richness would have added value to a hijack movie. Only slip I feel is unnecessary comedy dialogues between the "Actor" and his "fan". Songs would be odd n this movie, so is a comedy sequence. He showed greater versatility as a director. Good one to watch. Absolutely there is no heroism, songs and stunt sequences. Very different movie.
