Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Ioannis A Ioannis rated Plato's Academy (Akadimia Platonos) (2009) 3 stars Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/28/10 Full Review Audience Member The pinnacle is the point where Stavros bursts out to Merenglen wondering who he is when everything that defines him is not defining him anymore: The music he listens to, the football team he supports, his close relatives... Kafentzopoulos is excellent Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Phillipos Tsitos poses the question: what is that characteristic which determines the identity of a person? Is it family? Is it nationality? is it race? is it, football, may be, or the music you listen to? Then he proceeds to deconstruct every one of his hypotheses in the most human way. His camera is focused on a corner of a neighborhood in Athens, where Albanians and Chinese people have to learn to live and work together with the Greek inhabitants. The protagonist, whose mother suffers from Altzheimer's, suffers himself from insomnia and the annoying question: who is he, really? Does he have a brother, indeed, like his mother is suggesting? Is this a dream of hers, or the result of a disturbed mind? There are many more questions asked. Tsitos takes his time to answer them. The results of his research are definitely worth the wait.
