Mike McCahill Guardian One of Ash's contemporaries describes his encounter with this rainbow-hued bird as 'a priceless experience.' Two decades' worth of vanished, irretrievable pocket money would say otherwise. Rated: 2/5 Nov 1, 2017 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Some positive messages, but best for fans only. Rated: 2/5 Aug 12, 2019 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Más Gamers A rushed and narratively inert summary of some episodes from the anime that made an impression on a whole generation. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 30, 2019 Full Review Gareth Evans Starburst The movie is at its best when it is using the themes of its predecessor to tell its own story rather than the moments which essentially sell fans more of the same with a fresh coat of paint. Rated: 8/10 Feb 2, 2018 Full Review Yip Wai Yee The Straits Times (Singapore) Still, there are some improvements here from the original anime. Visually, the animation is lovely to look at, with the glittering rainbow-coloured feathers of the mystical Ho-Oh character especially mesmerising. If only the story is as compelling. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 22, 2017 Full Review Allegra Frank Polygon The Pokmon anime has hardly adhered to the rules of the original games. But Pokmon: I Choose You! goes a step further, ending with a moment so bizarre that my entire theater howled in disbelief. Nov 14, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Boc T Better to think of it as a reboot of Ash's journey and not a remake, this did a good job to get younger kids into Pokemon. Definitely some things I didn't like, especially with Pikachu near the end, but the rest of the movie is fine. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/15/24 Full Review Idan Charles L Why does this exist, it's not canon and not that good tbh Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/01/24 Full Review Liam D This is a boring and lazy retread of the first episode in the anime but that includes a moment that is so bafflingly terrible that it’s actually insulting to Pokemon fans Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/23/24 Full Review Songer K The Bored Rushing Of This Summary Of Ash Tediously Becoming A Pokemon Master Completely Insults The Scarce Pros Of The Movie As Well As Convincing The Unconscious And Forgettable Plot To Marginally Please The Ongoing Fanbase Of Pokemon. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/10/23 Full Review joshua c Fun remake of first season Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/08/23 Full Review Elijah W I will start off with this, this movie was kind of mediocre. The plot was kind of all over the place and the characters were ok at best. The idea of Marshadow and the rainbow feather was nice though. I would watch it again, but you aren't missing much in this movie. 3.5/5 mediocre movie Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
