Imaginatively evoking the inner landscape of human beings longing to connect, to love and feel loved, the film is a parable of happiness gloriously found and tragically lost. "Requiem for a Dream" tells parallel stories that are linked by the relationship between the lonely, widowed Sara Goldfarb and her sweet but aimless son, Harry. It may be too much for some viewers to take, but no one ever said addiction is pretty. And Aronofsky earns every right to his excesses by making sure audiences feel the loss of humanity instead of treating them like spectators at a freak show.

Requiem for a Dream is a gripping, psychodramatic, fast-paced, and unique film. It's hard to bear. At times, it almost makes you look away from the screen. It's psychologically intense, because the viewer already knows more or less where the story will end, but sees it unfold in small, increasingly painful and dehumanizing steps. It's a terribly raw, acute, and accurate story of where addictions lead. The story is relatively simple from a narrative standpoint. The performances and dialogue are on point. The techniques used to make the actors identify with the characters are evident. The epic yet crippled leitmotif creates an atmosphere of limping suffering.

Cinematic masterpiece that showcases the powerful writing and directing of Darren Aronofsky. The four main characters are perfectly cast, along with all supporting roles. The real magic is in every shot, by which I mean there isn't a single wasted one. There is such thought behind framing, angle, palette that you can pause at pretty much any moment and have a perfect image. The soundtrack is beyond powerful, but unfortunately has been very overused since. Just remember going in that it was scored for this movie. It was first.

Me encanta como es retratada la adicción, es un retrato crudo del mundo de las drogas y amo como visualmente nos hace sentir esa sensación de incomodidad y ansiedad que sientes al ver esta película, por un momento quise quitarla ya que empezó a ser abrumadora y creo que cumplió muy bien su objetivo
