Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online At times disturbing and always intense, this flick offers its own acid trip for viewers and is a first-hand look at four people who become trapped by their own hell. Rated: A Sep 12, 2017 Full Review Lisa Alspector Chicago Reader A staccato narrative parallels the experiences and hallucinations of a woman on drugs with those of her son and his friends. Sep 20, 2011 Full Review Matt Noller Slant Magazine A gut-wrenching, formally adventurous masterpiece or an ugly, flashy piece of empty-headed propaganda? Rated: 2/4 Sep 8, 2009 Full Review Kristy Strouse Cinematic Lovelies I think it’s a masterpiece; gut-wrenching and soaked in a hellscape of realistic proportions. Requiem for a Dream is a tough watch, but an essential one. Mar 12, 2023 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault If anything, Aronofsky’s doomy, freaky, humorless style defeats his own purpose: It re-animates the dark romance of dissolution. Rated: C- Sep 3, 2022 Full Review Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound Though all aspects of the film are excellent from story to cinematography to directing it is the acting which holds the whole thing together. The three leads are amazing. Rated: 4/5 Sep 14, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Bryan C haunting film, score, and performances Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/28/25 Full Review adelyn h very impactful and a shocking ending Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/18/25 Full Review The T Gross, but my god is it great. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/10/25 Full Review Ernie K A shattering and fantastically-acted treatise on serious drug addiction and it's ancillary effects. It is uncompromising in the manner it draws you in and won't let you go; even when you want to look away you can't seem to. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/25 Full Review Melanie M this film tears my soul apart every time I listen to it but WHAT a masterpiece. I don't like it. I LOVE it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/25 Full Review Jaykeb G I love the eyeball shot so much, but you know what I love more? Build up and characters. And Requiem For A Dream pulled me right into its story so early and it never lost me. I love how emotionally impacted and stressed out you’ll feel watching these characters in this movie, and a lot of that comes from the unreal performances by the entire cast. I love the films sound design and score, and the uniqueness of how they handled the editing and cinematography. The way it also handles its message of addiction felt extremely realistic and accurate, which just added to how much I was biting my nails as the film went on. Extremely well directed film, I loved it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/25 Full Review Read all reviews
