This is an... interesting movie, to say the least. It's entertaining at times, sure. And it's really cool when Mario and Luigi finally put their suits on. But also... what the hell did I just watch? To start with, this doesn't remotely feel like Mario. The characters aren't the same, Mario and Luigi barely wear green and red, Princess Peach isn't in this one but Daisy is meant to be Peach, even though they don't make her wear orange, and Bowser is a dinosaur who evolved into a human. This is like the Mario equivalent of the Blade movies, where they tried to make everything grounded, cool and gritty. However, there are some positives to this movie. While Mario and Luigi barely wear their colours, when they do, it's really cool. And the little references to the actual game series are cool when they're there. Finally, the climax is the best part of the movie. Aside from the Super Koopa Cousins. I wish that game existed. Overall, it's a very weird experience to say the least. Wouldn't recommend but at the same time, if you want to see a really weird take on Mario, I would recommend this.
