Audience Member It was THE BEST adaptation of the cartoon I used to watch as a kid! I just watched it tonight and laughed so hard during the entire movie, it was so comical, far better than 90% of hollywood buzz produced in the last decade. Maybe that's why it has such a low rating here, it's not a hollywood buzz that pays film critics to write good reviews... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Just stay with the comics, way cooler... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member As a kid I always read this comic book about Marsupilami and now seeing this real movie was funny and cool at the same time. Technology is sometimes really good as in this movie =). Its french =).... Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Lingering between fun flick from the family and the comedic delivery of a stoner comedy, this live action adaption is worth checking out. The only downfall this has is how the story centers on new characters to move the plot and has the Marsupilami as a form of E.T. stylized plot device rather than make him a central character. But on the whole, it works as a comedy and packs plenty of laughs that will value a rewatch. I do hope this gets released over in the states seeing it could have potential being a great family flick (that is if certain edits are made) or a young adult comedy that feels like Casper but written as a Harold and Kumar entry. Overall, great movie and I hope it doesn't fall into obscurity like its well-crafted CGI creation. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member I wonder what will happen to this one if it ever gets a US DVD release. I certainly see some minor recutting being done, but I still found it enjoyable. As someone who's dabbled in most incarnations of this iconic foreign character, I understand that each version takes it's liberties. This one plays off as two genres going at the same time, one being a Disney comedy with a dash of Spielberg, the other being a buddy comedy. The two bounce off of eachother fairly well and lead to some outlandish and funny moments. The only gripe I have was wanting more of the story action to revolve around the title character, the Marsupilami. Other adaptations had more of him, but here they may have had budget restraints. When he IS on screen, though, the comic potentials of an adorable yet tough critter with a 20 foot long tail are not underused. If this ever starts reaching English speaking countries, keep an eye out for it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Grant Watson Fiction Machine Among the variety of live-action adaptations of cartoons and comics, this is a lightweight but amiable diversion. Rated: 6/10 Jul 11, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
