Noel Murray Los Angeles Times An absorbing and challenging film, capturing the frustration of being held in limbo by a system that seems to prioritize punishment over appeals. Jun 21, 2023 Full Review Chris Vognar Rolling Stone Take Care of Maya allows you to feel the agony and anger of a nightmare from which they can’t awaken. The film leaves a bitter taste, along with the hope that they eventually get the closure that the film knows it can’t supply. Jun 20, 2023 Full Review Natalia Winkelman New York Times “Take Care of Maya” is grueling, but it is also oddly deficient, wanting for the precision and perspective essential to deriving insight from profound trauma. Jun 20, 2023 Full Review Carla Monfort Espinof An interesting documentary that brings attention to the tragedy that many families have had to endure in the face of medical abuse and their lack of understanding when faced with the diagnosis of an unknown disease. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Jul 5, 2023 Full Review Sabrina McFarland Common Sense Media Heartfelt documentary drama about determining the right healthcare for a child. Rated: 4/5 Jun 26, 2023 Full Review Chris Joyce Movies and Munchies (YouTube) There are so many layers to this documentary that will make you shake your head in disgust and then tear up by the sheer sadness of the story. The information is engaging, captivatingly told, and very heartbreaking. Jun 22, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Lee M Biased and scary. This mum appears to have all the signs of Medical abuse. That poor girl. Interesting it came out right before the court case appeal. Not info on the medical side of things, I feel sorry for the health professionals if shite like this is legal to be produced. Please if you haven't already listen to the podcast about this form of child abuse. That said I wish my mum put me in a two week K-hole, YEW! Research people before you make judgement on the health system. If that was a parent beating up on their child your reviews would look very different. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/30/24 Full Review dave d Infuriating and amazing documentary on corruption and awful human beings who are evil and changing lives of parents and their children. It is stretched a touch. There is only so much to take before you have to hit pause. It is rare we can look into the eyes of pure evil, but it's important to see people lie with impunity just so you know what they are capable of. I would have like to know why these people were lying. What was on the back end for them? If they are evil wouldn't that also make them mentally ill or most certainly lying? Altering lives forever has to come with some consequence? This is all happening in a Florida hospital with the Johns Hopkins reputation. Mind numbing! FInal Score: 7/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Plasmo D Brutal story that needs to be heard, and they did an excellent job on the production of it all. Very, very well done. If you're a human being, you will be crushed by this movie. It will sadden you and anger you, but you will benefit from hearing it. This is a reality we all need to be aware of, especially parents. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Alan W I watched this without any prior knowledge or expectations and was taken on an emotional journey that moved and angered me in equal measure. What an indictment of the American medical and legal system, in which money plays the pivotal part. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review paul k Heartbreaking and infuriating. The level of suffering the Kowalski family endured at the hands of the Johns Hopkins children's hospital and the so-called justice system is almost unimaginable. That they perservered and continue to fight in court to hold the system responsible for this tragedy is a testament to their extraordinary courage. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/30/23 Full Review kurt b It's sad to see what happened to their family. They were a happy family who are already suffering due to their daughter's unusual disease. In the documentary, you can see how corrupt the people are that are running the child protective system. They were heartless and basing their case on their personal opinion. Their job is to cause distress and destroy families. I can't imagine the amount of families and lives this system have destroyed with their allegations based on their own personal opinion. You can't help not to be upset for the families, and Sally smith and catherine needs to go to jail for the trauma and permanent damages they have caused.
