What to Know

Critics Consensus

It's the most entertaining Twilight, but that's not enough to make Breaking Dawn Part 2 worth watching for filmgoers who don't already count themselves among the franchise converts.

Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com While steps in the right direction are made with this conclusion to the series, it’s much too little and far too late, and this saga of undead romance is as laughably soapy now as it was when Meyer’s first book initially hit the bestseller list. thiago s Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/07/25 Full Review André C On part with Eclipse, it's a good ending for the franchise but it takes forever to end. Also, that opening credits? 🙄 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/25 Full Review Obi-wan K Worst saga oat charlie needs ALL the screen time Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/03/25 Full Review Tiffani L Amazing best ever cool Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/25 Full Review BRizz 2 Breaking Dawn Part 2 is an okay movie at best. It’s not terrible, and in some moments, it even flirts with being genuinely entertaining—but overall, it suffers from the same issues that plagued the rest of the Twilight franchise: flat performances, awkward storytelling choices, and a strange inability to fully embrace the fantasy world it tries so hard to create. Let’s start with the performances. Kristen Stewart, who has been widely criticized throughout the franchise for her emotionless delivery and blank stares, actually gives her best performance here. As Bella transitions into her new vampire form, Stewart finally feels more in tune with the role—more confident, more expressive, and for once, somewhat engaging. It’s a shame it took five films to get there, but credit where credit’s due. Then there’s the CGI baby. And oh wow—it’s bad. Truly baffling how a franchise that raked in hundreds of millions of dollars couldn’t afford a real baby or at least better effects. Renesmee’s digital face looks unnatural and unsettling, pulling viewers out of the emotional weight the story is supposed to carry. The weird, uncanny visuals are hard to take seriously and honestly, kind of laughable. The third act battle is where things finally get exciting. The fight sequence is fast-paced, dramatic, and full of unexpected moments that, for a brief time, make you forget the flaws. But the film pulls the rug out from under the audience with a twist that turns the whole sequence into a dream-like fake-out. What starts off as intense and thrilling quickly feels corny and cheap, undercutting the momentum it built up. What Breaking Dawn Part 2 ultimately shows is that the Twilight saga, despite its massive success and devoted fan base, always felt like it was missing something. It takes itself so seriously, but lacks the spark or depth that makes other fantasy franchises truly memorable. The love triangle fizzled out. The characters never fully grew. And even the stakes—immortality, ancient vampire clans, love across lifetimes—felt oddly small. In the end, Breaking Dawn Part 2 is a decent conclusion to a mediocre series. It has its moments, but nothing about it feels special. It’s the cinematic equivalent of a pop song that topped the charts but left no lasting impression. You watch it, maybe enjoy parts of it, and then move on without much thought.I’m Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/23/25 Full Review shishisocool s This movie is so phenomenal.
