The C.I.A., who hired Kesey to be a patient in their studies about the mind altering drug LSD,(he needed money during college) and you have quite a eye opening look into the mid to late 1960's craze which influenced The Beatles and was specifically championed by The Greatful Dead, a west coast band who's guitar member Jerry Garcia

made no excuses for applauding the use of the forbidden "acid". His early band was a regular at Kesey's "meetings".

Leary predicted that the Internet was the LSD of the future, that computers would be in every school. He became very interested in cyberspace.

was the only Harvard professor to be dismissed by the school in a hundred years. The other was poet Ralph Waldo Emerson.
3 Timothy Leary was a West Point cadet who really chaffed at the regimented thinking demanded by the academy. He advised everyone to think for yourself above all else and after much consideration decide to obey authority or better, question it.
4 Leary died of cancer but felt he was on the mind's last great journey.
