Andy R @RuthlessRoth 5d We tried to watch the first episode, but the sound quality was so frustrating that we finally gave up. We could understand maybe 50% of what the actors were saying, which made it nearly impossible to follow what was going on. The constant background music only made things worse, repeatedly overpowering the dialogue. We even used adjustable headsets and tried different settings, but nothing helped. Then, on top of the poor sound mixing, the actors constantly whisper and mumble their lines. Why make a show if the audience can't understand what the characters are saying? We shouldn't have to strain to hear the dialogue or rely on subtitles just to follow the story. After struggling through the first episode, we had enough and stopped watching. It's incredibly frustrating because the show might actually be good—but we'll never know because we couldn't understand half of it. Good cast and effects etc. I do find it a shame that one character doesn’t seem to have lost his broad Liverpudlian accent! Which doesn’t fit into the general theme of the Dune universe. Narrative is good to follow. The primary issue lies in the show's erratic pacing and a script that feels fundamentally flawed, relying heavily on relentless exposition rather than organic storytelling. While Mark Strong delivers a performance that hints at what the series could have been, his talents are largely squandered by the weak material. This lack of narrative cohesion is further compounded by a bloated roster of unlikable characters, making it nearly impossible for the audience to form an emotional connection to the story. This is coming from someone who is not a fan of the Dune trilogy. The character development, acting, and plot were just fantastic. It left me wanting a second season, I am genuinely shocked.
