George R.R. Martin's best-selling book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is brought to the screen as HBO sinks its considerable storytelling teeth into the medieval fantasy epic. It's the depiction of two powerful families -- kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men -- playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne. Martin is credited as a co-executive producer and one of the writers for the series, whose shooting locations include Northern Ireland, Malta, Croatia and Spain.

Eric Deggans NPR In many ways this season of Game of Thrones reached new heights, setting up its endgame in spectacular, meticulous fashion. Nov 26, 2019 Full Review Darren Franich Entertainment Weekly Few shows on television look better than this one, but it's coming up on great-drama retirement age. Game of Thrones is getting older. But it's not dead, yet. Rated: B Apr 26, 2016 Full Review Matt Zoller Seitz New York Magazine/Vulture The world the characters inhabit is still a hugely dangerous one, but at no point did I feel as though the writers were showing us beautiful butterflies in preparation of pulling their wings off. Apr 26, 2016 Full Review Kelechi Ehenulo Confessions From A Geek Mind Game of Thrones delivers where it matters. Entertaining, emotional and shocking, all our game players have been tested and their true colours have been revealed. Rated: 4/5 Jul 16, 2020 Full Review Ian Thomas Malone ianthomasmalone.com Occasionally casting logic aside, season six of Game of Thrones succeeds at being good television. Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Molly Templeton Reactor [It's] a solid stretch of narrative setup and motion when you gulp it down in a sitting or three. Oct 13, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Tom F. What I would give to erase my memory and relive the excitement I felt going into Season 6, which delivers some of the best moments of the series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/25 Full Review Eva B Those two last episodes were perfect! You couldn't catch a breath. For me though, they were many filler scenes this season. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/26/25 Full Review Raniel Ivan C Season 6 = S Tier 9.5/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/25 Full Review Jadan C This is by far the best show I’ve EVER seen in my life. That says something because in very critical when it comes to shows/movies as I’m very critical. I’m usually able to guess what’s about to happen in most movies/shows and I could never guess what’s was happening next. There could’ve been more action but since it’s such a good plot every episode that makes up for it. Amazing cast, amazing storyline, just all around amazing. I genuinely hated Cersei and Joffrey and genuinely wanted to hurt them in real life while watching, which goes to show you how good the acting is. I recommend this show to anyone that needs a good/great shown and entertainment. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/26/25 Full Review Faiz D One of the strongest seasons of the show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/14/25 Full Review Paul S This show never fails to amaze me. I enjoyed every minute of this season. I definitely recommend it for medieval fantasy fans!
