Gifted criminal profiler Will Graham has a unique way of thinking that allows him to empathize with anyone, including psychopaths. But while helping the FBI pursue a particularly complicated serial killer, he decides he could use some help and enlists the brilliant psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter. The two form a partnership and it seems that there is no villain they can't catch together, but Lecter harbors a dark secret. His own brilliant mind has gone to the dark side and he has more in common with the criminals they hunt than Will could possibly imagine.

Greg Cwik New York Magazine/Vulture Thanks to some sharp dialogue pleated with myriad meanings, Mikkelsen and Anderson enthrall just as much as the show's usual histrionic, CGI-addled murder-as-performance-art setpieces. Rated: 5/5 Jan 15, 2019 Full Review Sian Cain Guardian Maybe it was too weird, maybe it was too gruesome. But it was, all puns intended, bloody good. Jan 15, 2019 Full Review Debbie Day TheWrap If Hannibal wasn't already too cerebral for the average horror fan, it may have accidentally stumbled into the muck of pretension... But despite the audience-building challenges Fuller sometimes throws in the path of his monster, it's hard to hate him. Jan 15, 2019 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand It was utterly unique in the realm of network television, a melding of high art and pulp fiction, and played more like European art movie than American crime procedural. May 30, 2025 Full Review Jeremy Jahns JeremyJahns.com This is a wonderful, beautiful, and captivating plummet into madness. Jun 22, 2020 Full Review Cindy Davis Pajiba 'Twas the most deliciously warped love letter ever written by a horrifically, beautiful mind. Jan 15, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

C S The weirdest season yet! Wish they could snag the rights for the rest of the material and give us some more epic seasons. Still had an perfect ending to one of the best shows ever made. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/22/25 Full Review Gareth v The show remains visually striking and thematically ambitious, but its heavy reliance on slow, poetic dialogue and abstract imagery often slows the momentum to a crawl. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/13/25 Full Review ZLORP Z I LOVE IT SO MUCH, BUT ONE OF MY COMPLAINTS IS THAT HANNIGRAM ISNT YURI!!! YEARNING FINAL BOSSES, TEARS ARE SPILLING Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/12/25 Full Review Ronak R More like a horror villain with supernatural luck than a real-world serial killer. Bad ending. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/18/25 Full Review Faiz D What a beautiful and poetic ending for Hannibal. Mads has made his version the defining Hannibal for me. It's sad that the show never got the recognition that it deserved. It didn't deserve ending at only 3, but at the same time, it went out just as beautifully macabre as only Hannibal could. Definitely one of very few series finales that I have felt satisfied with. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/25 Full Review Donald D Season 3 is awful hence no more seasons. It’s now become an art house film without any of the art. You can’t say I didn’t warn you. It will spoil it all for you. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/06/25 Full Review Read all reviews
