Alan Sepinwall Uproxx And on a whole, the fifth season did better at dealing with all of its plot than did the fourth. Rated: B+ Jan 16, 2019 Full Review Allison Keene Collider Still, Sons of Anarchy seems to be reclaiming, slightly, some of the elements that made its first and second seasons so brilliant: emotional drama paired with humor, and a side of violence. Rated: B Jan 16, 2019 Full Review Alan Sepinwall HitFix The show has embraced the toxic effect the club has on all who get involved with it. Rated: B+ Sep 11, 2012 Full Review Randy Dankievitch Processed Media So even when Sons finds some good emotional moments for its characters, they feel flat and forced together, because ultimately, every bit of character exists only in the service of plot, and not the other way around. Rated: C Feb 20, 2020 Full Review Jason Zabel E! Online It's an amazing turnaround for Jax, one that was hard to see coming. Jan 16, 2019 Full Review Matt Richenthal TV Fanatic It's been a fascinating, gradual decline of this character [Jax], who lost the moral high ground a long time ago. Army H Jax really brought his A-Game as President of SAMCRO. The plot continues spectacularly with the addition of Damon Pope. This is the first season where I actually began to become horrified, starting with Opie’s death. More horrifying to me than all horror movies I watched combined. All in all, a very good season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/24 Full Review Regal R 65/100 - i really wanted to like this show, but its just so mediocre. prepare for "there's always something" the writers cant just let sleeping dogs lie. if every single decision has a plot twist, then its just as predictable as not having any plot twists. it just keeps you in this weird anxious feeling where you can never enjoy the show because you know there's always going to be some weird garbage. super predictable and cliche show. it has some bizarre moments that make you laugh but its not haha funny, its a "this is so bad" its funny. if you want some comfort food with a lot of boring drama this is for you Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/28/23 Full Review Roman L First season was excellent; it was fresh and raw. Seasons two and three were good. Since fourth season, it turned in to dragging soap opera. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/15/23 Full Review Benjamin H Though the plot weaves too much, season 5 of Sons of Anarchy is a brutal, tense and morally ambigious mix of thrilling crime drama and intimate familial matters that operates at full speed and never tires out. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/14/23 Full Review Jon D Phenomenal heart wrenching story. If you like crime dramas with a ton of action, this is for you.
