Well into the second generation of a grand televangelist tradition, the world-famous Gemstone family is living proof that worship pays dividends in all sizes. Patriarch Eli, the man most responsible for the tremendous success of the family's megachurch, is in mourning over the loss of his wife. Jesse, the eldest of the three grown Gemstone siblings, looks to lead in his father's footsteps, but finds his past sins jeopardizing the family ministry. Next in line comes middle sister Judy, who secretly lives with her fiancé and dreams of escaping the Gemstone compound. Rounding out the dysfunctional trio is pseudo-hipster Kelvin, the youngest of the preachers and a thorn in Jesse's side. As the family battles numerous threats to their renowned religious empire, they continue to spread the good word... and make a solid buck doing so.

Absolutely spectacular. Ep4 opening is the best show intro I have ever seen in my life, Walton Goggins smashed it out of the park w his poses, and as Baby Billy overall. This season was my favourite as far as adversary goes....maybe tied w s3 and the whole prepper-cult thing. This season was filled with good wholesome vibes and was a great note to finish on, though I'm sad to see this series go, honestly. I never expected to like a show about a mega church family so much.

As with seasons 1-3, there are moments of great hilarity and awesome performances all around. However, I think season 4 is probably the weakest season and I'm glad that they decided to close the show at season 4, because often less is more. I felt this season started to feel a little bit tired, almost got a little bit too dark at times and meandered quite a bit. I was also expecting more of a tie in with the first couple of episodes exploring the Gemstone family history, as I don't really get what the point of going back in time was in the scheme of the larger plot. I wish the series could have ended with a stronger storyline, but this show doesn't disappoint for the most part.

This is, hands down, one of the best series of the past decade. It's underrated and underappreciated. The statement on greed within the Christian church is very well done and never gets in the way of the humor. It elevates it.
