Lucy Mangan Guardian The latest spin-off’s success will depend entirely on how truly invested the fandom is in Rick and Michonne’s relationship. Nothing new is being offered. Rated: 3/5 Jun 4, 2024 Full Review Hugo Rifkind The Times (UK) It doesn’t really go anywhere. Heroes struggle and villains triumph and then fall, but none of it seems to mean much. May 31, 2024 Full Review Melanie McFarland Salon.com While “The Ones Who Live” isn’t exactly review proof, if you’ve been pining away for these two, nothing anyone says will stop you from sucking the marrow out of this carcass. Feb 27, 2024 Full Review Shay McBryde Show Snob This is an epic tale about star-crossed lovers who would do anything to get back to each other. There is great risk, but without it, there is no great reward. The world is theirs, and they may just end up saving the world to get back their own. Rated: B- Jul 30, 2025 Full Review Ian Bunting Daily Record (UK) The leading man's return and an inspiring central romance make the show a worthwhile venture. Aug 5, 2024 Full Review Erik Kain Forbes Too neat, too convenient, too poorly written, too rushed. Apr 14, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Zema K Rick and Michonne are not the same people they were when the apocalypse began. The series explores how trauma reshapes identity and how love can anchor that transformation. The show contrasts the human need for connection with the isolating effects of loss and violence. The series often asks: What is right in a world without rules? Rick and Michonne both make morally complex choices—sometimes violent, sometimes compassionate. Despite the bleakness, the show plants seeds of hope—through love, memory, and the possibility of reunion. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/15/25 Full Review Kaela S The King and Queen of the TWDU!!! This show was perfect from start to finish. It was amazing to have Rick and Michonne back on my screen clawing their way back to one another. The characters we met along the way were just as compelling and added so much to the story. Thanks to Andy, Danai and Gimple for bringing such an amazing story to life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/29/25 Full Review Zaza A I loved it, they took a risk with the love story but it paid off. Love Rick and Michonne. Great job Andrew and Danai. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/22/25 Full Review Augusto P A very good show if you're looking for a teen romantic drama. It seems like just a coincidence to have the TWD actors and some zombies around. Rick was so dramatic, it was almost unbearable for me. Michonne was okay, and her journey to find Rick was the best part of the season. CRM seemed like a good thing too, but it was practically left aside to give time to the soap operatic stuff. For me, it fell far behind 'Daryl Dixon' and 'Dead City', which maintained the zombie atmosphere. I think the result of trying here to create a TWD story with another genre (romantic-drama) was pretty bad. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/21/25 Full Review Paige W Love Rick and Michonne. Loved this show, and I will definitely check out their dead by daylight game as survivors. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/11/25 Full Review Nicole S I loved it. A few flaws but nothing major.
