What to Know

Critics Consensus

An acidly witty riff on breaking bad, Your Friends & Neighbors' class commentary occasionally stumbles but has an endlessly watchable avatar in star Jon Hamm.

Wenlei Ma The Nightly (AU) If you’re patient enough to get past the shakier first two chapters, Your Friends and Neighbours is more than its shiny trappings. Apr 22, 2025 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News The primary asset here is Hamm, so good at acting only irritated in the face of situations that would plunge the rest of us into a panic attack. Rated: 3/4 Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Melanie McFarland Salon.com One of Tropper's better TV efforts, although, in the tradition of past shows like "Banshee" and "Warrior," its handsomeness disguises significant creative shortcomings. That doesn't make it less watchable -- it's certainly that. Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper jackiekcooper.com Jon Hamm piles on the charm in this entertaining series. Rated: 6/10 May 1, 2025 Full Review Ty'Kira Smalls Common Sense Media This series has a solid premise, with an entertaining cast and introspective narrative. Apr 30, 2025 Full Review Neely Swanson Beverly Hills Courier Your Friends and Neighbors is well-produced, well-written and loaded with excellent actors. I shouldn’t have anything to complain about, but I do. Why, I ask myself, should I care about any of these people? I don’t. Apr 29, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Andrea F Amazing series, cast and acting product! Truly enlightening and built. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/25 Full Review D T Not sure why there are so many bad audience reviews Being posted on here right now which led to me posting one of my own. This is a fun TV show, it’s pretty well acted, and keeps you engaged with a storyline that moves a lot so far. Is it Breaking Bad?? No… It’s not a perfect show, But it’s TV and it is supposed to be fun and I’m having fun watching it. Lighten up people Jesus. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/19/25 Full Review Steve B Great cast, and often well written, with witty and irascible humor that can make for an interesting experience. But with all that good, the plot still manages to sabotage the show and send it spiraling into a chaotic mess of suspect and often ridiculous decision making that had me screaming "they wouldn't do that." The writing does the difficult work of creating some depth to the characters and intelligently highlighting their motivations only to have them turn around and make the poorest decisions one could imagine time and time again. In the end, all you're left with is a middle-aged man named "Coop" and a detective with an over-the-top NYC accent that don't hold together the promise that was created in the early episodes. Bummer. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/19/25 Full Review Mahta D This is a fairly okay show, kind of good to watch while you're doing other things. It's like comfort food. It feels low-stakes bc it's basically about rich people problems and entitled ways of solving them -- with no accountability, and it steers clear of any real social commentary. But, that said, it is fairly enjoyable at times and Jon Hamm is sexy. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Ryan P Great cast with zero compelling characters. Good overall idea with nearly zero story progression in every episode. Not a slow paced show, but anything important from the season could all be wrapped up into two episodes. If you need to know what's happened during the first 7 episodes I only need 30 seconds to catch you up. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Audience Member Material fetish porn aside, it manages to make us somehow empathize with yet more rich folk thwarting a fate presumed worse than death yet still leagues of luxury above you and me.
