Filmmaker Cameron Labine has always had a sympathetic ear when it comes to working in the entertainment field-both of his brothers, Tyler and Kyle, are actors. Labine started his career in entertainment as an actor as well, appearing in a number of projects throughout the '90s like an episode of "The X-Files" (Fox, 1993-2002) and the film "Little Women" (1994). By 1996, however, Labine was ready to focus more on the machinations behind the camera, enrolling at The University of British Columbia to major in film and video studies. Labine's first work as a filmmaker was a short called "Room" (2001). The film earned him major acclaim in the Canadian film world, garnering a Leo Award and a Golden Sheaf Award. He continued working in the backgrounds of larger projects, taking jobs as a productions scout, assistant director, or any other title that would help him gain experience. Finally, Labine was ready to make his debut as a feature filmmaker, directing his brother Tyler and a number of talented friends in the irreverent comedy "Control Alt Delete" (2008). After a stint writing on the series "Mr. Young" (Disney, 2011-), he came back with another feature that found Kyle in the starring role, the acclaimed dramedy "Mountain Men" (2014).
