Chelsea Handler
Comedienne-host-author Chelsea Handler's brash, unfiltered, scatological humor not only made her stand out from the crowd, but made her difficult to define as she went on to fame and fortune as host of her own talk shows, "Chelsea Lately" (E! Networks, 2007-14) and "Chelsea" (Netflix 2016- ). An impromptu moment of public speaking had inspired Handler to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. Following a few small guest turns on various sitcoms and after attracting the attention of Jay Leno, she hosted was hired by E! Entertainment Television to host "The Chelsea Handler Show" (2006), which quickly morphed into the popular late night chat show, "Chelsea Lately." In addition to her burgeoning television career, Handler also proved to be an extremely successful author, with autobiographical books like Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea and Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang reaching No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list. By 2011, Handler had formed her own mini-empire, with production development deals and a book imprint of her own via her Borderline Amazing shingle. And although her blonde good looks belied the vocabulary of a drunken sailor in her stand-up comedy and writings, it may have been Handler's business acumen and boundless ambition that were the biggest surprise.
