Gary Valentine
Thankfully, there was never any sibling rivalry between brothers Garold Joseph Knipfing and Kevin George Knipfing, better known by their stage names Gary Valentine and Kevin James. Gary was actually the first of the two brothers to enter the world of comedy as a successful stand up. This led to appearances on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" (NBC 1993-2009) and as one of the hosts on "The X Show" (FX 1999-2001) while Comedy Central gave him his one half hour comedy special in 2001. Valentine even shared an apartment with his younger brother during this time. When James got his big break as loveable schlub Doug Hefferman on "The King of Queens" (CBS 1998-2007), Valentine joined him, not only playing Danny Heffernan (Doug's cousin) but also writing several episodes and also performing on the soundtrack on a few occasions. Away from TV, Valentine made his film debut in the Farelly Brothers' conjoined-twins comedy "Stuck on You" (2003) and has appeared alongside his brother in numerous titles including "I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry" (2007) and "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" (2009). Valentine continued to perform stand up and became a regular guest on Chelsea Handler's round table chat show "Chelsea Lately" (E! 2007-), as well as one of the leads in the TV movie series "The Dog Who Saved" ("Christmas," 2009, "Christmas Vacation," 2010, "Halloween," 2011, "The Holidays," 2012). Meanwhile, he continued appearing in his brother's films, including "The Zookeeper" (2011) and "Here Comes the Boom" (2012), along with the Adam Sandler bomb "Jack and Jill" (2011).
