Matteo Lane was raised in Illinois and began singing at age 15. At that time, his genre of choice was opera. He also spent his time painting and drawing. In 2011 he began his comedy career performing at open mics and was featured at the Montreal Just for Laughs festival in 2014. This led him to be cast In "Joking Off" and "Ladylike" (MTV, 2016).
