Molly Price

Avid reader, amateur boxer, and gourmet deli owner, Molly Price is a muscular, multifaceted actress most at home in roles of cops, who despite being a bit rough around the edges, are ultimately brimming with feminine tenderness. In 1991, she appeared on an early episode of the seminal television staple "Law & Order," launching not only her 15-year run as a recurring player on that particular show but also her status as a mainstay of the police-procedural genre as a whole. Years of perfecting her hard-edged yet nuanced persona paid off; in '99 she was cast in the lead role of the police officer Faith Yokas on the eclectic crime drama "Third Watch." Her character was bossy, flawed, but wholly redeeming and determined to succeed. The show, which granted her the opportunity to work opposite husband and real-life firefighter Derek Kelly, famously featured Price in a special interview segment in which she discussed Kelly's experiences as a member of the 9/11 rescue team. Although she typically shines brightest on the small screen, Price has made occasional appearances in films such as Woody Allen's droll 1930s-era comedy "Sweet and Lowdown" and James L. Brooks' frenzied modern-day romance "How Do You Know," in which she played a tough softball coach.
