Nicolas Jouxtel
Nicolas Jouxtel's professional acting career began at a very young age. In 2004, an eight-year-old Jouxtel received his first big role after being cast in French director Yann Moix's comedic fantasy, "Podium." In the film, Jouxtel plays the child of a bank executive who dresses up as the French pop star Claude Francois by night. Jouxtel earned praise for his role as the disenchanted son, and "Podium" was nominated for several César Awards (France's highest film honor). Despite this success, Jouxtel next appeared in a series of smaller roles on short-lived TV shows, such as the thriller "Sable Noir" and the French sitcom "Inséparables," in which he played a wisecracking kid, Oscar, for three episodes. Jouxtel returned to feature films in 2007, acting in the popular French comedy "I Hate My Best Friends' Kids." But it was in 2009 that the still-young actor got the rare opportunity to work with one of France's most prominent actors, Gerard Depardieu, in the lighthearted drama "Coco." A compelling story about a self-made man who learns he has a heart defect, the film was a box-office smash which finally cemented Jouxtel's status as an established actor with widely recognized talent.
