First of all, kudos to the effects that made the effort for a CGI-heavy sequal to one of my childhood movies..the original Fung Wan (1998). And kudos to the weapons maker, the costume department and the main team of Aaron & Ekin. But THAT'S ALL the credit I can give. I have absolutely NO praise whatsoever for the script. I MEAN WHAT HAPPENED?! ZERO character development, rushed scenes, no build-up tension like the first movie, no sense of substance for the plot, and the whole thing seemed so rushed and there was no narrative back story of who some of the characters were. Moreover, MANY of the characters seemed to have been thrown in just for the sake of it without any proper storyline and fundamental base for the story. First and foremost, Cloud has lost much of his brooding quality and seemed more like a kid being thrown into the streets to fend for himself. And the short attempt at romance between Cloud and Muse was utterly needless...I pity the cast who had to go through such a pathetic script and yet they did their best to follow it to the letter. It is sad to see how low and wanting the current state of cinema is...hardly or no substance in storyline, no proper character development...all seemed rushed for the sake of datelines and pesky studio agents breathing down the crew's neck...I wish this would be rebooted in a way because sad to say, even though it's nothing more than eye candy for some cool fight scenes and CGI-loaded effects, it should be given the respect and honour it deserves for its legacy of awesome comics and classic art of martial arts and swordplay. A series would have been better than a cramped up movie.

While the Storm Warriors has a lot of pretty CG magic power fight sequences... it truly lacks in terms of story... and the fight sequences are a little meh.
The Pang bros truly try to make the most out of this film by using all manner of different styles of shooting and presentation. There's "300" level green screen work, standard martial arts moments, slow motion, etc.
As pretty as the film can look at times nothing can save a film that's filled with a fight sequence between two characters for roughly half the film.
Not really a recommended flick but not a bad watch if just looking for something to turn off your brain to and eat some popcorn while pretty pictures fly across the screen.

am sorry, do not agree with user ratings shown thought it was visually interesting and better than the first (still like the first but tried to squeeze too many characters without having time for them).

Is there no zero-star option?
Quite possibily the most incoherent and badly acted film I've ever seen.
Actually this isn't even a film. So we're all good now.

Awesome visual effects. The Pang brothers make the movie shine with marvelous direction, lighting and filters. Choi is stunning, Yam plays a good villain and it's always nice to see Suet Lam. Epic slow-mo, bit of a strange ending.
