Blobbo X Director was ahead his time. Pay attention camera shots! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review nick s The acting was rather stagey, which sucked the gravitas out of the movie. The lead actor seemed to think it was a radio show. The dialogue was also below par, with a lot of exposition for the audience and choppy progression of plot. Some nice camera work in places. The score was a bit of a cacophony in the action sequences. Overall not much story and few thrills in this flick. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review alvin a Sweet little classic mystery/horror gem from the 1940's. More for it's style and actors, a lot of British actors in an American production made during WWII. Not as much a horror movie as the Universal monster movies of the time but still a fun watch if you haven't seen it. The original novel Witten in 1922 was a more detailed. involved Supernatural story but would have been larger production. Enjoy it for what it is. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A paint by numbers Universal monster movie with actors and writers made of wood. Anything cool here can be seen at much better degrees in more famous monster movies of this time period, like, I don't know, THE WOLF MAN? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member See it more for the visual thrills than for the mystery, but see it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member great atmospheric horror with a universal feel although a 20th century fox release. recognise the butler? no shit sherlock.
