Meanwhile, Carol's daughter (Diane Lane) and Reece's son (Robert Patrick) begin an affair of their own that provides a disquieting mirror for their parents in this bittersweet drama. My Thoughts: "This is probably a movie for an older crowed or for those who don't mind not having young folk in their films. It's a bitter sweet love story that takes place in this film. Everytime they come together they let the other slip away. It's a great lesson in love and that it's never too late. I love Diane Keaton and Sam Shepard in this movie. They just have great chemistry together. The story is slow, but I liked it's pace. This is a movie you have to be in the mood for. Those who like romance films and love stories will be sure to enjoy this film." There is ONE true love of your life the film is saying--don't fudge around and waste years and decades denying your feelings. Sam Shepard plays a role of a man in the same position he was in CRIMES OF THE HEART with unrequited love for someone departing and returning to his life. DIANE KEATON IS ALWAYS a spry and engaging energetic wonder of an actress. It just goes to show you; if you have a movie on your mind, make it because--even ten years after its release--someone will see it and enjoy it.
