Carol Midgley The Times (UK) And Just Like That… has been dull, bunking in on a late-1990s/early-Noughties nostalgia ticket, but a travesty of the original. Rated: 2/5 Aug 21, 2025 Full Review Johanna Schneller Globe and Mail Why was the writing so lazy? Because they knew they had a golden ticket of IP (intellectual property), so they didn’t have to try? Why did Parker play Carrie as if she’d never had a sense of humour? Aug 15, 2025 Full Review Inkoo Kang The New Yorker Is “And Just Like That” bad enough to retroactively diminish its predecessor? I’d argue yes. Aug 15, 2025 Full Review Susan Granger SSG Syndicate Initial disappointment occurred when Big suffered a fatal Pelaton-induced heart attack & Carrie's rekindled romance with Aiden fizzled. Losing sassy, adventurous sexpot Samantha left a gaping hole. When the quartet became a trio, it lost a pivotal part.. Rated: 6/10 Aug 26, 2025 Full Review Alison Rowat The Herald (Scotland) And just like that, an entire female cast was packed into a minivan and driven off a cliff, Thelma & Louise-style (figuratively speaking, of course). Aug 22, 2025 Full Review Denise Zubizarreta LatinaMedia.Co And in a time when rent is outpacing wages and reproductive rights are being stripped faster than Miranda’s storyline, watching rich women in couture sip $30 lattes and debate existential crises over fresh-cut peonies just didn’t hit the same. Nelson N What a huge let down. I was hoping for something wonderful after the end of Season 2, which opened up huge possibilities for every character, but it seems like they lost track of their own storytelling. I couldn’t find any part worth complimenting, just to regret to ever spending time watching it. They deserved better endings. I’m glad they wrapped it up, even though it should’ve ended much earlier, while everything was still savable. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/30/25 Full Review Jenna S *SPOILERS AHEAD* Well... that was disappointing. The finale left more open story lines than finished ones and if I hadn't looked it up, I wouldn't have even known it was the finale. That's how unfinished it felt. I've seen pilot season leave less unfinished than this. This season was my favorite so far, and for it end like any regular episode would, was just poor and lazy writing. After all that, we don't have any finished stories? Just 'who knows'? Miranda is in a bad relationship with someone who doesn't like her son. Brady didn't make up with Steve, he's just that mad at Miranda. What happens after the baby is born? Does Seema stay in her relationship after finding out he doesn't believe in marriage? Is Harry cancer free or do he and Charlotte just continue the stupid song and dance? After all that, Carrie has no closure and writes a two sentence epilouge? Ugh! Normally I re-watch shows but this one won't ever be revisited. Don't waste your time... this series was a waste of mine. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/25 Full Review Leslie A. Horrific writing. So glad it’s been cancelled Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/22/25 Full Review Ruth H Spoiler alert: In the finale we see two men pee, there’s a disgusting plumbing problem, and just like that the entire show is flushed down the toilet. Too bad because I will miss the new and improved Carrie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/20/25 Full Review Joey B. Bad. Bad bad bad bad BAD! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/17/25 Full Review Dan G And Just Like That… had a rocky start right out of the gate. The first season centered on the death of a major character, but instead of building meaningful depth from that storyline, the show struggled to find its footing. The absence of Samantha was especially glaring—her presence was such a vital part of the original series, and without her, the dynamic felt incomplete. Despite my hopes of recapturing the magic of Sex and the City, the show never came close. The addition of two new main characters only added to the confusion; they felt more like distractions than fresh perspectives, and their storylines failed to resonate. The overall tone was awkward and often downright cringeworthy. I kept watching, waiting for that familiar sparkle, but it never came. The season finale was especially disappointing—arguably one of the weakest I’ve seen in a series of this caliber. What was once a witty, stylish, and emotionally resonant show has turned into something unrecognizable. Sadly, HBO’s decision to cancel feels inevitable.
