Alan Carter
Alan Carter had been working as an editor before his long-form directorial debut came in 1997 with "Walt Disney World Easter Parade." While he has made several ventures into fiction, Carter specializes in variety shows and television specials. He is responsible for directing several "Miss America" pageants since 2003, and he filmed Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson for both their Christmas special and "Nick & Jessica's Tour of Duty." In 2005, Carter filmed his first awards shows, "The 10th Annual Critics' Choice Awards" and "The 11th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards." He is also an Emmy award-winning editor, earning that honor in 1994 for "The Magic of David Copperfield" and a nomination in 1998 for the music documentary "Quincy Jones... The First 50 Years."
